Survey Equipment
Computers:
5 Pentium-III 866Mhz. computers with 256meg Ram, 20
gigabyte hardrive, a 56X CD-ROM, and a 17 inch monitor. These machines use the
new Windows 2000 operating system. We have all our computers network together
via TCP/IP protocol to an IBM Netfinity server using a four drive raid systems
for maximum data security. 6 486DX-33Mhz., Zeos notebooks with 8 meg of Ram, 260
meg hardrive used by field crews. 1
Sparc 10 Unix
station running Solaris 2.6 with 128 meg of ram, 9 gigabyte of hardrive
space, a 21 inch monitor, a 5 gigabyte tape drive and a 12X CD-ROM. This machine
acts as our web and mail servers and is also used as a file server. Four of the
CAD computers have Kurta tablets attached to them. One CAD computer has a
48"x60" Gentian high state digitizing table attached to it. We are
directly and constantly connected to the internet via 2.2MBS DSL phone line
which is run into a router and a Sun Sparc 2 computer loaded with Firewall-1 for
maximum security against intrusion into our networked environment.
CDROM Writer:
Our firm is equipped with an
HP CDROM writer
which allows us to write large amounts of data to CD for backup or distribution
purposes.
Plotters:
HP DESIGNJET 2500CP Inkjet colour plotter.
This plotter provides our customers with a superior quality product.
ENCAD Cadjet2 inkjet colour plotter.
Printers and Copiers:
Lanier multi- function device. (Model
5025) This device acts as a printer, plotter, copier and fax machine.
We also have a Xerox 2520 with an automatic cutter which allows us to make
very high quality prints.
Software:
AutoCad Land Development Desktop 2000i,
Autocad version 14,
Eagle Point
GIS with
Parcel Records management module.
Ski 2.3 GPS software with
Leica Workbench(2.1) interface software. RTSKI software for real time GPS surveys.
Geolab 2001 pro network Adjustment software. Topos and C&G coordinate geometry
software packages. WordPerfect for windows, DBASE IV for Dos and Windows, Lotus
123 version 5 for windows, Netscape, NTV2 Transformation program, Bluemarble
Geographic Calculator V4, Corpscon,
Vedit version
5.1,
Tracer, Recognizer & V-Image,
,Microsoft
Office, Microsoft Sequel 7.0 database, Procomm, FaxWorks Pro, Microstation,
Netscape Enterprise Server & Messaging server
Instrumentation:
Wild T1000/DI1000 total station with 1
GRE3 data collector. 3 Wild T1600/DI1001 total stations with rec modules(GIF
10). 1 Geodimeter 600 fully robotic total station with Autolock.
3
Leica system 300 GPS units-each unit
consisting of an antenna, receiver, controller and 2 batteries. The receivers
are 2 SR399E and 1 SR399. The controllers are CR344 with full coordinate
geometry functionality. These units are dual frequency, capable of establishing
first order three dimensional control stations. All units also each consist of a
Pacific Crest data
radio modem which allows the units to be operated in real time surveys. We have
2 - 2 watt data radios and 2 - 35 watt data radio/amplifier. We have 8 magnetic
mounts so that the receivers and antennas can be mounted on the vehicles.
With a data radio and an antenna connected to a computer we have a base
station capable of broadcasting RTCM or RTSKI corrections to the roving units.
Our firm is authorized for a 5 watt and a 35 watt license for broadcasting RTCM
and RTSKI corrections.
We also have a SR9400 GPS receiver which we connect to a coast guard becon.
This arrangement of equipment is perfect for GIS data capture.
